Each issue, Fireflies assembles an international group of writers, poets, visual artists and critics to celebrate the work of two extraordinary filmmakers.
Issue #1 explores the work of Italian director Pier Paolo Pasolini (1922-1975) and Thai director Apichatpong Weerasethakul (1970-) over 96 pages.
Featuring original interviews with Apichatpong and Pasolini's muse, Ninetto Davoli, as well as personal essays from Vadim Rizov, Eloise Ross and Alison Smith, fiction from Octavia Bright and Oliver Mol, poetry from Jon Auman and Valgerður Þóroddsdóttir, and visual art from John Waters, Luis Miguel Bendaña, Aaron Billings, Leith Maguire, Ned McAliece, Dar Al Naim Mubarak, Grégoire Perrier and Ole Tillmann.
